  1. Post update

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

A Dundee long throw finds Jordan McGhee in the Rangers box, but his attempted header hits off his back and goes straight through to goalkeeper Jack Butland.

    Rangers are still asleep.

  2. Post update

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

Now Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron gets to the by-line and cuts the ball back along the six-yard box, but it doesn’t fall for a team-mate.

The hosts are right up for this one.

  3. ‘Nearly a terrible start for Rangers’

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

    Craig Levein

St Johnstone manager on BBC Sportsound

I genuinely thought that was going to nestle in the bottom corner from where we are sitting.

What a terrible start that could’ve been for Rangers!

  4. Oh my, Dundee were a couple of inches from taking the lead there.

Amadou Bakayoko is played in behind James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.

His cross finds Malachi Boateng to the right of the penalty spot, and his low shot just goes past Jack Butland’s far post.

    A let off for Rangers.

  5. KICK-OFF

    Dundee 0-0 Rangers

“It’s about how you react,” Rangers boss Philippe Clement says.

Let’s see what his team have got.

  6. Post update

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Now The Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ is getting an airing at Dens Park.

    Dundee trolling themselves. Superb stuff.

  7. Are Tavernier’s goals papering over the cracks?

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

    Rory Loy

Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

Should you really be relying on your right back to score that many goals?

It’s a damning indictment on the likes of Dessers etc. that they haven’t managed to take chances in the big moments.

There’s an over-reliance on James Tavernier to score these goals.

Maybe his goals are papering over the cracks? He’s scored two penalties in the last two games. He’s been really poor in those games, for me.

  8. Rangers’ defensive issues

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Rangers have the league’s meanest defence, conceding just 23 goals in their 32 games.

They also have the most clean sheets, aided by goalkeeper Jack Butland’s superb displays.

However, that’s gone awry slightly in the last six league games, where they’ve conceded 10 goals.

That’s getting on for half their entire total in just six games. Can they re-discover their miserly streak?

  9. Docherty says ‘objectives have now changed’

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells Sportsound: “We wanted to retain our Premiership status first and foremost.

“We are punching above our weight, maybe four of fives places in this league.

“We have six games to go… let’s see where we can get to.

“We could look back on this season with a great deal of satisfaction.

“The objectives have changed now because the players have ticked off all the previous objectives. So let’s go and chase this next one now.”

  10. Rangers need return to basics – Clement

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Rangers manager Philippe Clement suggests the much criticised Dens Park pitch is “decent” and “looks much better than a few weeks ago”, especially as “they have put some green paint on it so it looks better”.

As for the defeat by Ross County, he tells BBC Scotland: “It was a disappointment of course. The first time in six months that team had an off day and not at their normal level.

“We lost our basics. We talked about repeating the basics again. We were too open, we were not reacting, we were not aggressive enough. We need to start with that again.”

Clement says his side have shown previously they can handle the pressure of chasing Celtic for the title and adds: “They are all eager to react against a very good opponent.”

  11. Post update

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Right, let’s hear from the managers who have been speaking on Sportsound.

First up, the Rangers manager Philippe Clement.

  12. Post update

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

The DJ at Dens Park is continually playing water-themed songs over the tannoy.

    Pure Scottish football.

  13. ‘New pitch rules needed this summer’

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

    Rory Loy

Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

Rules need to come into place this summer where a certain amount of money needs to be spent on the pitch.

We should have a minimum figure, not a percentage of income, spent on the pitches to keep them to a proper standard.

If a number of games are called off then clubs should be punished.

  14. Pitch saga

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Here’s a reminder of the drama surrounding this fixture:

    • The match was postponed on Sunday, 17 March just 90 minutes before kick off after the pitch failed an inspection following heavy rainfall
    • It was re-arranged for Wednesday, 10 April and again was called off after the pitch failed an early inspection at 15:30 BST
    • Rangers slammed Dundee – who have had five home games called off this season – as unprofessional and negligent
    • The SPFL opens disciplinary proceedings against Dundee for the state of their pitch
    • The game is re-scheduled for tonight and the SPFL brings in a pitch specialist to monitor the condition of the turf, with the fall-back plan to play at St Johnstone’s McDiarmid Park if Dens is unplayable once more
    • The league confirms on Tuesday the game will take place

    Scottish football, eh?

  15. Post update

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

    Brian McLauchlin

    BBC Scotland at Dens Park

After what feels like weeks of rain in Dundee, the pitch at Dens Park is now deemed playable for what could end up being one of the most crucial matches of the season.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement was full of anger after watching his team being humbled by Ross County on Sunday and will have let his players know they simply cannot afford anymore slip ups if they want to wrestle the title back from Celtic.

As for Dundee, they have dreams of a shot at Europe and there is no doubt the appointment of Tony Docherty has been one of the shrewdest of the season.

The 90 minutes this evening will decide nothing. But whichever result we have could bring despair or triumph for those watching.

  16. County repeat could spell trouble for Rangers

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

    Craig Levein

St Johnstone manager on BBC Sportsound

I think that Rangers could come under pressure at set-pieces today.

Dundee have got a good record at set pieces… they cause teams distress continually.

If Rangers perform the same way as they did on Sunday, I can see Dundee winning this game.

  17. Dundee delight

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

What a season it’s been for Dundee.

Their draw away to Aberdeen on Saturday confirmed a top-half finish on their first season back in the Premiership.

Rangers boss Philippe Clement suggested in the media this week that means the pressure is off them.

But there’s still a chance for the Dee to qualify for Europe via the league for the first time since 1973. What an incentive for the boys in dark blue.

    Look at those smiles.

  18. Rangers stuttering at crucial moment?

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Having lost just once under Philippe Clement up until the end of February, Rangers have now taken just four points from their last 12 available.

That form is not going to win them the title. Sunday’s slip up in Dingwall means they will probably have to go to Celtic Park on 11 May and win.

The title is 100% still there for them, but they simply cannot afford to drop points tonight.

Another slip wouldn’t be fatal, but it would make their task mountainous. Win, and they’re just a point behind Celtic with five games to play.

    It’s high stakes stuff.

  19. Dingwall shock

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

Anyone who tries to tell you they predicted Rangers losing to Ross County on Sunday (for the first time ever), they’re lying.

Nobody saw that performance coming, in a positive sense for County and in a horrible way for Rangers.

How the Ibrox men respond tonight will tell us a lot about them. Can they handle the pressure?

  20. ‘Clement had to bench Dessers’

    Dundee v Rangers (20:00)

    Rory Loy

Former Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

Cyriel Dessers missed big opportunities to put the (Ross County) game out of sight.

It’s not a surprise whatsoever that Kemar Roofe has come into the starting XI.

Clement wasn’t given any choice. He wants those chances to fall to Roofe and not Dessers.
